To popularise the playing and watching of cricket in Britain’s inner cities which are currently neglected by the present county-based structure. The initial competition to be in North London, at senior and junior level, and the model to be implemented countrywide.
To offer the dream to cricketers outside the county system of fast-tracking to the top.
To exploit the potential of 20-over cricket.
To benefit the social fabric in Britain by bringing the three principal communities (native white, British Asian and Afro-Caribbean) together in one of their few areas of common interest, cricket
